Arriving and leaving

What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is 4:00 PM and check-out is 11:00 AM. There is a 2-night minimum stay.
How do I get in?
Self check-in with a keyless Schlage lock. Before you arrive you will receive a door code that is unique to your stay. It stops working at noon on your departure day unless we have arranged a late check-out. To lock the door when you leave, enter your code or press the Schlage button.
Where exactly is the house?
The house is in a golf course neighborhood at Alderbrook in Union, WA. For our guests' privacy and the home's security, we share the address and arrival details once your booking is confirmed.
Where do I park?
There is covered parking in the carport, where the EV charger is.
What should I do before I leave?
Please load and run the dishwasher (pods are under the sink), close the windows and lock the patio doors, return the patio cushions to the deck box, turn off the lights and lock the front door.

Comfort and tech

How do the heat and air conditioning work?
The living room and loft have heat pumps for both heating and air conditioning, with Mysa thermostats: use the arrows to set the temperature and the side button to switch between heat and cool. You can also use your voice, for example "OK Google, turn Living Room Thermostat to 70 degrees." The bedroom and bathroom have baseboard heaters with their own thermostats.
Is there a smart home?
Yes. Most lights work by voice through Google Home ("OK Google, turn on the kitchen light", "OK Google, turn the lamp to 50%") or from the Brilliant touchscreen. Ask Google to play Pandora stations, for example "OK Google, play Classic Rock."
What is on the TV?
A 65" Fire TV in the living room with YouTube TV, Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video and Disney+ included, plus a DVD player. Apps that need a personal login are available too. The bedroom has a 48" smart TV.
How fast is the Wi-Fi?
Over 500 Mbps, plenty for video calls and streaming. The network name and password are in the welcome binder.
Can I charge my EV?
Yes. A Level 2 JuiceBox charger (32 amp) is in the carport and available to guests.
Is there coffee?
Yes: a Keurig for K-Cups and a traditional coffee maker. Instructions are in the welcome binder.
Can we use the fireplace?
Yes, the living room has a wood-burning fireplace. Duraflame starter logs work best. The metal around the door gets very hot. Never dump ashes or embers outside; use the tin can on the side of the house.
Is there a fire pit?
A propane fire table on the deck is available in the summer months. Please turn off the propane valve and put the cover back on once it has cooled. Outdoor cushions are in the deck box.
Is there a washer and dryer?
Yes, a washer and dryer are in the house, along with an iron, hair dryer and extra pillows and blankets.

Safety and house rules

Can we smoke or vape?
Not inside the house. There is a $200 fine for evidence of smoking indoors. You may smoke outside; there is a tin can next to the deck for cigarette butts.
Are campfires or fireworks allowed?
No, never. Outdoor campfires and fireworks are banned year-round across the golf course, the neighborhoods and the surrounding forest. Alderbrook fines $2,000 per violation, and Mason County can add fines during a burn ban.
Are pets allowed?
Sorry, no pets. Children are welcome.
Can we host a party or event?
No events or gatherings of more than 6 people without our written approval. Quiet hours are 10 PM to 7 AM; this is a quiet golf course community.
Can we walk on the golf course?
The golf course is private property for registered golfers. Please don't use the cart paths as walking paths. The Alderbrook trails are a great alternative; see the Area Guide.
What safety equipment is in the house?
Two Nest smoke and carbon monoxide alarms (with night lights that turn on with motion), a fire extinguisher and a first aid kit. Outdoor security cameras cover the outside of the house only.
